Archer Materials appoints Dr. Simon Ruffell as new CEO

SYDNEY: Archer Materials Limited announced Thursday the appointment of Dr. Simon Ruffell as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Dr. Ruffell, who previously served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer, brings over 20 years of international experience in technology and research leadership to the role.

Dr. Ruffell joined Archer Materials in February 2024 as Engineering Manager and was promoted to CTO in July 2024. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a PhD in Physics and a master’s in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey in the UK, he has held leadership positions at global technology firms, including Microsoft and Applied Materials.

“Dr. Ruffell’s expertise in quantum technologies and medical diagnostics, combined with his strong leadership skills, make him the ideal person to lead Archer into its next phase of growth,” said Greg English, Executive Chairman of Archer Materials.

Dr. Ruffell previously worked as a Semiconductor and Quantum Engagement Manager at the University of Sydney, highlighting his commitment to advancing cutting-edge technology.
