KENOSHA: Snap-on Incorporated announced Monday it has acquired Diesel Laptops LLC, a South Carolina-based provider of diagnostics and repair technology for commercial trucks and heavy equipment, for approximately $100 million in cash.
The deal, which closed June 8, adds specialized capabilities in diagnostics, repair information and digital solutions for heavy-duty repair shops, fleets and equipment operators in industries including mining, agriculture and infrastructure, a statement said.
Diesel Laptops, based in Irmo, S.C., will become part of Snap-on’s Repair Systems & Information Group.
Founded in 2015, Diesel Laptops originally set out to help clients with their diagnostic tool needs. As trucks and emission technology became more advanced, a demand was placed in the market for diagnostic tools to meet those needs. As the years went on, we found that customers needed more. Diesel Laptops has now expanded into 4 distinct divisions.
The acquisition strengthens the company’s library of proprietary data and expands its product offerings to support the diagnosis and repair of increasingly complex vehicles and equipment.
Snap-on, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SNA and a component of the S&P 500, reported $4.7 billion in sales in 2025. The Kenosha, Wis.-based company makes and markets tools, equipment, diagnostics and repair systems for professional users in vehicle repair, aerospace, military and manufacturing sectors.
Founded in 1920, Snap-on distributes its products through franchisee vans, direct sales and distributor channels.
