Wiz, a cloud security company, has announced its first acquisition ever, buying Raftt, a cloud-based platform for developers, for as much as $50 million.
The deal will allow Wiz to integrate Raftt’s technology into its own products, enhancing its ability to bridge the gap between security and engineering teams.
Raftt, founded in 2020 and based in Tel Aviv, enables developers to collaborate in virtual environments, either existing ones or new ones that they can create and share with their colleagues.
The platform aims to make development faster, easier, and more secure.
“The biggest problem in securing the cloud is the divide between the security people and the engineers,” said Ami Luttwak, co-founder and chief technology officer at Wiz, in a statement.
“The acquisition of Raftt helps us move closer to the holy grail: to build products that are amazing for both developers and security officials.”
Wiz, founded in 2020 and based in New York, is one of the fastest-growing cloud security companies, reaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue in 18 months.
The company offers a comprehensive solution for cloud security, covering infrastructure, network, identity, and data. Wiz has raised $350 million in funding from investors such as Sequoia, Insight Partners, and Salesforce Ventures.
