X launches two new subscription plans: Premium+ and Basic

Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), launched two new subscription plans on Friday: Premium+ and Basic.

Premium+ costs $16 per month and includes all the platform’s tools and features, minus the ads. It’s currently only available for users accessing the platform through a web browser.

The Basic tier costs $3 per month but is not ad-free.

X is also planning to bundle video and audio calling for some users, in an effort to turn the platform into an all-in-one app.

Musk has been exploring several ways to monetize the platform, which he acquired for $44 billion in October 2022.
