Apple to launch new Macs with ‘Scary Fast’ processors

Apple is gearing up to launch its new Mac products in an online-only event dubbed ‘Scary Fast’, according to Bloomberg. The event will showcase the latest MacBook Pros and iMacs powered by the new M3-series processors, which are said to be faster and more efficient than ever before.

The new MacBook Pros will feature the M3 Pro and M3 Max processors, which are based on one of TSMC’s N3 process technologies. These processors have more cores and graphics clusters than the previous M2-series, as shown in the table below.

The iMacs will also get a makeover, with the new models sporting the M3 chip and improved GPU configurations. The iMacs will also switch to USB-C connectors, bringing them up to date with the latest standards.

The event comes at a time when the personal computing market is recovering from the pandemic-induced slowdown. Apple hopes to boost its sales during the holiday season with its new offerings, after seeing a decline in previous quarters. The new Macs could help Apple increase its Mac revenue streams, which complement its strong iPhone performance.

Bloomberg also reports that Apple has more products in the pipeline, such as new MacBook Airs and iPads. However, these products are expected to launch in later events, stretching into 2024 and beyond. This suggests that Apple has a long-term vision of innovation and product enhancement for its customers.
