Boom Logistics appoints Ben Pieyre as CEO and Managing Director

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Boom Logistics Limited (ASX: BOL), a lifting solutions company, has announced that it has appointed Ben Pieyre as its CEO and Managing Director, effective immediately.

Mr Pieyre has been the Interim CEO and a Director of the Company since 15 February 2023, following the departure of former CEO Tony Spassopoulos. During this period, the Board conducted an extensive external and internal search for a permanent replacement and decided to appoint Mr Pieyre based on his leadership and vision for the business.

Mr Pieyre joined Boom in 2019 and was previously the Company’s COO. He has over 20 years of experience in the industrial services sector, including senior roles at Downer EDI, Spotless Group and Transfield Services.

Boom’s Chair Mrs Melanie Allibon said: “We are delighted to appoint Ben to the CEO and Managing Director role. Ben has demonstrated excellent management skills, future planning capabilities, effective decision making, adaptability, and most importantly, a clear vision for our business. These skills will be invaluable as we look to further grow our Company.”

Mr Pieyre said: “I am proud to be appointed as Boom’s CEO and Managing Director given we are poised for the next stage of growth and expect to deliver an improved financial performance in FY24. During my time at Boom I have been working with an extremely talented and dedicated group of people and look forward to continuing working with them as we shape the Company’s future progress and development. Our recent tender wins, coupled with strong activity across our core markets, a healthy balance sheet and optimised assets, means we are in a strong position to drive growth as well as enhanced and sustained returns for our shareholders.”

The Board also announced that Non-Executive Director Kieran Pryke, who had increased involvement in the business during the transition period, will revert to his standard Non-Executive Director fees. Mr Pryke received additional director fees of up to A$15,000 per month for his increased time commitment during the transition period.

Boom Logistics is a leading provider of lifting solutions for various industries, including mining, energy, infrastructure and construction. The Company operates a fleet of over 250 cranes, travel towers and access equipment across Australia.
