YouTube TV offers discounted NFL Sunday Ticket Package for 2022 Season

Online streaming service YouTube TV is entering its first year as the new home of NFL Sunday Ticket and has announced special pricing for its subscribers. The announcement follows Google’s success in outbidding Amazon and ESPN for the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket in December 2021, securing a reported annual cost of $2 billion.

Launched in 1994, NFL Sunday Ticket has been providing fans with access to out-of-market regular season NFL games, and it has historically been carried by satellite service DirecTV. However, with YouTube TV now taking on the service, it will be available to online subscribers as an add-on package.

For YouTube TV subscribers, the NFL Sunday Ticket can be added at a presale price of $249 for the season, which is $100 off the $349 retail price. In comparison, NFL Sunday Ticket cost about $300 through DirecTV, with some subscribers being able to access it for free. With the launch of NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV, subscribers can watch on the web, on their TV, and on smartphones and tablets.

However, YouTube TV is also making the NFL Sunday Ticket available to non-subscribers at a presale price of $349, which is $100 off the retail price of $449 for the season. The service has taken a different approach than DirecTV, which required a subscription to its service but offered some exemptions to certain groups, including college students, those without a TV, and those who couldn’t install a satellite dish or receive a signal at their home.

To access the presale price, non-subscribers can go to the YouTube PrimeTime Channels page, where they can subscribe to various premium channels, such as Showtime, NBA League Pass, and Paramount+. Moreover, YouTube TV is offering a package that includes the popular NFL RedZone channel with NFL Sunday Ticket for $289 for the season, $100 off the retail price of $389 for the season. Non-subscribers can get the NFL Sunday Ticket-NFL RedZone package for the presale price of $389, which is $100 off the retail price of $489 for the season. All discounted price offers end on June 6.

YouTube TV recently raised the monthly price of its service from $64.99 to $72.99, and the increase will take effect on April 18 for existing members. In addition, the service is testing a multiview feature that lets subscribers watch up to four pre-selected games simultaneously.

“On YouTube TV, members will have access to features like the brand new multiview, as well as unlimited DVR storage, personalized recommendations, the ability to view key plays, NFL fantasy data, real-time stats, and hide spoilers,” said Christian Oestlien, Vice President of Product Management for YouTube TV and Connected TV in a statement.

In conclusion, with the new NFL Sunday Ticket package, YouTube TV subscribers and non-subscribers alike can enjoy football games from the comfort of their own homes, with the added bonus of various features to enhance their viewing experience.
