Dr Tony McKenna appointed Group CEO and MD of Wattle Health Australia

MELBOURNE: Wattle Health Australia Limited has appointed Dr Tony McKenna as the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director effective 13 January 2020.

Concurrently, the Company’s Executive Director, CEO and Co-Founder Mr Lazarus Karasavvidis has resigned from the Board of the Company and agreed to step down from his role as CEO.

The Company’s ASEAN Sales Director and Co-Founder Mr Martin Glenister has resigned from the Company. Ms Georgia Sotiropoulos has resigned from the Company as Executive Director but remains as a key employee within the Company.

Commenting on the Board changes, the Company’s interim Non-Executive Chairman Mr Peter Biantes said, “On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Mr Karasavvidis and Mr Glenister for the vision they have brought into the Company and the contribution they have made to the Company over the years and we wish them well in their future endeavours. The Board also welcomes Dr McKenna to the role as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer and is looking forward to the vast experience, he and his new team bring to the Company.”

Commenting on his appointment, Dr McKenna said, “Despite the many challenges faced by WHA we have brought together the physical assets, people capability and some initial domestic and international sales partnerships that provide an excellent foundation to become a successful Australian dairy company. In addition to this our relationship with the Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia provides us a very unique platform for the production of a value-add differentiated product range of organic nutritional products. The whole team is now focussed on the execution phase and we are excited to have the opportunity to deliver strong future results for all stakeholders of the business.”
