LONDON, UK: ScS Group, one of the UK’s largest retailers of upholstered furniture and floorings, has announced the appointment of Mark Fleetwood as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will join the Board of the Group and take up his role as CFO on 4 September 2023.
Mark has significant retail and PLC experience. He most recently served as CFO of END., the digital-led global fashion retailer based in the North East, where he supported the high-growth ambitions with revenue more than doubling to around £220m. He also held senior roles at Grainger plc, N+1 Singer, Brewin Dolphin and KPMG.
Mark will succeed Chris Muir, who notified the Board of his intention to step down in December 2022. Chris will remain actively involved with the business as Executive Director until late 2023, when he will depart after serving his 12-month notice. He will also oversee the publication of the Group’s Preliminary Results in October.
The CEO of ScS, Steve Carson, said that Mark was a fantastic addition to the business and brought significant digital, retail and PLC experience to the Board. He said that Mark had a growth mind-set and a strong track record of delivery, which would support the Group as it continued to progress its strategy. He also thanked Chris for his exceptional contribution to ScS in his seven years with the business and wished him well for the future.
Mark Fleetwood said that he was impressed by the team at ScS and their desire to move the business forward. He said that he was looking forward to getting to know the Group and its people, and to working with Steve, the wider team, and the Board, to help develop and deliver the strategy, and to continue to build value for stakeholders.
