Pakistani Chaunsa mango will land in Europe and Middle East in the first week of July, Patron All Pakistan Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Association Waheed Ahmed said on Tuesday.
Mango exports from Pakistan are due to start on May 20, 2023 in accordance with the government’s strictly timed export policy. Chaunsa comes later.
Exporters said the price of Chaunsa mango in Europe will be around GBP 10/KG in Europe and about AED 90/KG in the Middle East.
Pakistan’s improved mango crop has been welcome after last year’s heat waves and water shortages reduced volumes by as much as 40 per cent.
Varieties including Sindhri, Almas and Dusehri arrive in the UAE first from the province of Sindh, followed by Punjab varieties including Chaunsa.

Safaid Chaunsa is a white-fleshed variety of Chaunsa mango. It is smaller than Mosami Chaunsa and has a milder flavor. Safaid Chaunsa is typically harvested in late July or early August.
Azeem Chaunsa is the largest variety of Chaunsa mango. It has a yellow skin and a sweet, juicy flesh. Azeem Chaunsa is typically harvested in late August or early September.
