Toys R Us CEO Louis Mittoni resigns

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Digital-first e-commence direct-to-consumer retailer, Toys”R”Us ANZ Limited (ASX:TOY) announced the resignation of Louis Mittoni as Group CEO and Managing Director.

Louis will focus on key international market and technology projects in our ANZ & UK licensed territories over the coming six months.

Louis is the Founder of Mittoni Pty Ltd and the ecommerce site Hobby Warehouse, and has led the newly re-launched Toys R Us brands in Australia and the UK.

Louis is the largest shareholder in the company and will remain on the Board as an Executive Director whilst he is serving out his notice period and will be subject to rotation at the Annual General Meeting. Louis will also focus on the migration of our ecommerce platform to a new platform for holiday season 2023, and support the roll out of the store in store trial with WH Smith in the UK.

The Board thanks Louis for his drive, energy and vision as Group CEO over the past two and a half years leading the company.

As previously announced Toys R Us ANZ has a current search for a new Managing Director to lead the ANZ business via Derwent Search, with final interviews scheduled for late May.

This search process has been accelerated to encompass a wider candidate base to fill the Group CEO role. In the interim Kevin Moore, Chair of TOY will combine the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Non-Exec Chair as Executive Chair based in our Melbourne head office for 3 months or until a new Group CEO is appointed.
