OMAHA: AMCON Distributing Company (NYSE American: DIT) reported third-quarter diluted earnings per share of $2.13, with net income of $1.3 million as the Omaha-based distributor advances its integration efforts following recent acquisitions.

Quarterly Highlights

  • Revenue rose 3% year-over-year to $739.6 million, driven by growth in wholesale distribution
  • Gross profit reached $49.6 million, reflecting a stable margin despite inflationary headwinds
  • Operating income declined slightly to $4.86 million, impacted by higher SG&A expenses

Chairman and CEO Christopher H. Atayan said the company is focused on expanding its customer-centric services, with system integration positioning AMCON as the third-largest convenience distributor in the U.S. by territory. He emphasized enthusiasm from retail partners for AMCON’s enhanced advertising and merchandising tools, calling them a “competitive edge.”

Plummer noted inflation remains a key challenge, influencing labor, insurance, and product costs across the convenience retailing sector. “We’re seeing broader industry consolidation as cost structures remain pressured,” Plummer said.
