Argo MRT Americas acquires Techni-Air 2000 Inc. to expand its line maintenance services

Argo MRT Americas, an affiliate of DRAKKAR, has announced the acquisition of Techni-Air 2000 Inc., a Montreal-based aircraft maintenance provider. The deal gives Argo MRT Americas 100% ownership of Techni-Air 2000 Inc., which is known for its tailor-made, technical handling solutions for airlines.

The acquisition broadens Argo MRT Americas’ offering by introducing a second service line focused on line maintenance, which is the maintenance performed on aircraft before or after each flight. This enhances the company’s portfolio and aligns with its vision of providing mobile repair and line maintenance services to the aerospace industry.

Techni-Air 2000 Inc. holds MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) certifications from Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These complement Argo MRT Americas’ recent attainment of Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification by Transport Canada. These combined accreditations enable the company to work under its own approval for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Operators, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul organizations, and Lessors throughout Canada, the Americas and now Europe.

David Thibes, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Argo MRT Americas, said that securing the AMO certification in February was an important milestone for the company and its commitment to excellence. He added that the acquisition of Techni-Air 2000 Inc. was in line with this forward momentum and perfectly blended a business and human-centric approach to their services. He thanked Gilles Valiquette, Co-Founder of Techni Air 2000 Inc., for his trust and support with the transition.

Marcus Schulz, CEO of Argo Group, said that the acquisition was a significant value addition for the group as it strengthened their service offerings and expanded their global footprint. He said that this marked an important milestone and that they looked forward to continuing and expanding their partnership with DRAKKAR in the Americas.

Gilles Valiquette, President, Director of Maintenance, Techni-Air 2000 Inc., said that he was pleased to entrust the Techni-Air 2000 Inc. workforce, legacy and expertise to Argo MRT Americas. He said that the acquisition allowed them to integrate their proven abilities and join a team of highly talented professionals who were geared towards providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a reputation as an innovative industry leader.

Mélanie Lussier, President & CEO at Aéro Montréal, said that supporting Quebec’s aerospace companies was essential for the growth and sustainability of their sector, which nurtured a community of innovation, excellence, and global competitiveness. She said that Argo MRT Americas’ full acquisition of Techni-Air 2000 Inc. highlighted the importance of combining forces to elevate the industry on the world stage, ensuring that the province remained at the forefront of aerospace advancements.
