SAN FRANCISCO: GC AI, a legal technology platform tailored for in-house counsel, said on Wednesday it has raised $60 million in a Series B funding round led by Scale Venture Partners and Northzone, with participation from Sound Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, SilverCircle Partners, News Corp, The Council, and strategic investors including Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.
The round values GC AI at $555 million and brings its total funding to $73 million.
Founded by former Amazon and Replit legal executive Cecilia Ziniti and AI engineer Bardia Pourvakil, GC AI provides AI-powered tools for corporate legal teams to accelerate contract review, compliance, and governance workflows. The company said more than 1,000 organizations now use its platform, including News Corp, Nextdoor, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, TIME Inc., and Zscaler.
“In-house teams deserve technology built for their unique reality,” said Ziniti, who serves as CEO. “We built something lawyers actually use and trust, and our 70 NPS proves that.”
The company reported annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth from $1 million to over $10 million in under a year, with average monthly growth of 23% in 2025. GC AI estimates its platform has saved customers over 600,000 hours of legal work.
The funding will be used to expand enterprise capabilities, deepen product integrations, and enhance document-level AI precision. GC AI also plans to scale its legal agent infrastructure and training programs, which have already reached over 5,000 legal professionals.
“GC AI is enabling our legal team to be more efficient, reduce our reliance on outside counsel, and deliver better legal outcomes,” said Robert Schlossman, Chief Legal Officer at Zscaler.
The company’s differentiated focus on in-house legal teams comes amid a broader shift in legal employment, with corporate counsel roles growing at more than twice the rate of law firm and government positions.
“Sometimes the name tells the story,” said Rory O’Driscoll, Partner at Scale Venture Partners. “GC AI is designed specifically for the needs of in-house legal teams, which are very different from those of AmLaw firm attorneys.”
GC AI is based in San Francisco and serves more than 50 public companies and 25 unicorns.
