TOKYO — FINDEX Inc. (3649.T), a Japanese health tech firm listed on the JPX Prime Market, said on Wednesday it will launch a new Medical Data Platform Business on Nov. 1 after receiving certification from Japan’s Cabinet Office as a “Certified Medical Information Handling Business Operator” under the Next-Generation Medical Infrastructure Act.
The new business unit will operate within FINDEX’s existing health tech segment and aims to securely aggregate and anonymize clinical data from medical institutions for use in drug development, medical research, and policy planning.
The move marks a strategic shift for FINDEX, which has traditionally focused on electronic medical records, image management systems, and e-prescription platforms. The company said the platform will enable broader secondary use of real-world clinical data, including test results, treatment records, and symptom progression, which had previously been restricted due to privacy laws.
“This certification positions FINDEX not only as a system and device vendor but as a central player in Japan’s medical data ecosystem,” the company said in a statement.
While the initiative is not expected to materially impact earnings in the current fiscal year, FINDEX anticipates it will enhance corporate value over the medium to long term.
