LONDON: European logistics giant InPost has expanded its presence in the United Kingdom with the acquisition of Yodel, one of the country’s largest parcel delivery companies. The move positions InPost as the third-largest agnostic e-commerce logistics provider in the UK, solidifying its foothold in the market.
The acquisition integrates Yodel’s home delivery network with InPost’s extensive out-of-home (“OOH”) parcel services, enhancing convenience for retailers and customers alike. Following the transaction, InPost’s UK market share rises to approximately 8%, and its annual parcel volume will exceed 300 million, reinforcing the company’s dominance in e-commerce logistics.
“This acquisition marks a pivotal milestone in InPost’s journey to revolutionize the UK delivery market,” said Rafał Brzoska, Founder and CEO of InPost Group.
“We have fast-forwarded five years of organic growth in the UK, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the market.”
InPost acquired 95.5% of Judge Logistics Ltd, Yodel’s parent company, through a debt-to-equity conversion. PayPoint retains a minority 4.5% stake, maintaining its partnership with Yodel in the OOH space. The transaction follows InPost’s October 2024 acquisition of Menzies Distribution, which secured full control over its logistics operations in the UK.
Neil Kuschel, CEO of InPost UK, described the acquisition as a “game-changer” for the company. “By combining doorstep deliveries with our unrivaled locker network, we are reshaping the future of parcel delivery,” Kuschel said. “We will provide e-commerce retailers and customers with the reliability, flexibility, and efficiency they expect.”
The deal is expected to be EBITDA accretive within one year, reinforcing InPost’s position as a leading logistics provider in the UK. The company now plans to leverage Yodel’s last-mile services and expand its merchant base to over 700 e-commerce stores.
With this acquisition, InPost diversifies its geographic footprint, with the UK now contributing approximately 30% of the InPost Group’s revenue. Company executives view the transaction as an opportunity to further scale operations and establish a more comprehensive logistics network.
