PARIS: LACROIX has announced the sale of its City-Mobility segment to the SWARCO group, following exclusive negotiations that began on December 12. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
The sale includes the Traffic and V2X business units, which generated €27.3 million in revenue in 2023, representing 3.6% of LACROIX’s total revenue. At the end of 2024, these units employed 122 people across locations in Carros, Ploufragan, and Cesson in France, and Madrid, Spain.
The decision to sell was influenced by the quality of the industrial and commercial project, which is essential for the company’s development and long-term job preservation. The project received positive feedback from staff representatives and internal teams. Transitional service agreements have been established to ensure continuity of activity and services during the transition.
SWARCO is renowned internationally for its road safety and intelligent traffic management products and technology. The acquisition aligns well with SWARCO’s existing activities, presenting significant opportunities for development and synergies in terms of geography, technology, and sales.
Although SWARCO operates in 25 countries, it has had limited presence in France and Spain. This acquisition will allow SWARCO to enter these markets, where LACROIX’s City-Mobility segment has a strong foothold in traffic management equipment. The addition of SWARCO’s technologically complementary products will enhance commercial synergies and open new sales channels in both countries.
LACROIX’s decision to divest the City-Mobility segment is driven by a strategic shift to focus on businesses with strong technological synergies. The company aims to become a global leader in industrial IoT solutions and electronic equipment for critical applications. The sale will simplify LACROIX’s organization and enable a sharper focus on its core value creation centered on electronics and industrial IoT.
The impact of the disposal will be recorded in LACROIX’s income from discontinued operations as of December 31, 2024.
Michael Schuch, CEO of SWARCO, commented, “The acquisition of LACROIX City-Mobility is a promising opportunity for us to amplify our presence in the French-speaking traffic technology markets, as well as in Spain. We are thrilled to welcome the LACROIX City-Mobility team to the SWARCO family and look forward to evolving our business together.”
Vincent Bedouin, CEO of LACROIX, added, “I am delighted that we have been able to conclude our sale transaction project with SWARCO. This move will enable us to simplify our organization and focus on the electronic equipment activities where we are best positioned.”
