QAD Inc. has acquired Phenix Software

SANTA BARBARA: QAD Inc., a prominent provider of cloud-based manufacturing and supply chain solutions, has acquired Phenix Software Inc. This acquisition aims to enhance manufacturers’ productivity and factory performance.

The newly named QAD Advanced Scheduling solution optimizes production by determining the best sequence for product manufacturing on each line, minimizing changeovers, optimizing inventory, and aligning cost and service goals.

“Phenix Software has developed a leading scheduling solution that ensures our customers can deliver the right product, at the right price, at the right time,” said Carter Lloyds, QAD’s Chief Product and Marketing Officer.

“With QAD Advanced Scheduling, our customers benefit from comprehensive planning, scheduling, and execution.”

Manufacturers are increasingly seeking technology to boost efficiency, agility, and resilience. QAD Advanced Scheduling addresses these needs by grouping related products in the optimal sequence, considering inventories, capacity, product attributes, and changeover costs. This enhances manufacturing process synchronization, resource utilization, and on-time delivery while reducing inventory levels and waste.

Phenix Software Inc. was founded by Zinata Inc. seven years ago to address significant performance losses due to suboptimal changeovers and inventory levels. Zinata has now become a QAD distributor, continuing to sell, support, and implement the product. Zinata’s extensive experience in manufacturing and scheduling will provide ongoing expert support as the platform expands globally.

“This acquisition and partnership highlight the strengths of our innovative scheduling solution and QAD’s manufacturing software, delivering exceptional value to our clients,” said Noel Peberdy, Founder and CEO of Phenix Software Inc. and Zinata Inc. “Together, we are committed to helping manufacturers overcome production challenges and meet customer demands effectively.”
