Otovo launches partnership with German automobile club ADAC

BERLIN: Otovo, Europe’s leading marketplace for residential solar and battery installations, today announced the launch of a marketing partnership with Germany’s largest automobile club, ADAC.

ADAC’s 20 million members outnumber any other automobile association in Europe. In addition to offering roadside assistance, maintenance and repair services, German homeowners can buy solar energy solutions through ADAC’s Solar energy platform. The platform is run by ADAC’s commercial division ADAC SE, and Otovo is now one of three installation partners.

Sascha Coccorullo, Head of Strategy & New Business at ADAC SE, remarks: “This partnership is a crucial component in the development of ADAC Solar into a comprehensive platform for sustainable mobility and energy. ADAC continuously expands its range of services, supporting its members in making environmentally friendly and cost-effective decisions.

By integrating Otovo into the ADAC Solar energy platform, ADAC expands its offering in sustainable and cost-effective energy and e-mobility, while Otovo increases its market reach and visibility through access to the broad base of ADAC’s 20 million member base. ADAC will receive a fee per lead they refer to Otovo, and a percentage of revenue from successful sales.

Artur Schreiber, Otovo’s General Manager in Germany, adds: “Our goal is to cover every roof in Germany with solar panels and utilise the full potential of solar energy. We see great potential, especially for charging EVs. Through ADAC Solar, we reach a large number of current and future EV owners, and can offer them the best energy solution for their home and their car.

Says Andreas Thorsheim, Chief Executive Officer of Otovo: “We have actively pursued opportunities in the double electrification of homes and transport, two megatrends for this decade. This is our second substantial partnership in Germany that enables more clean energy charging and is in line with our strategy of diversifying our customer acquisition.”
