Lenovo partners Anaconda to boost AI development & deployment

Lenovo and Anaconda, the leading provider of the world’s most popular AI, machine learning, and data science platform, announced a strategic partnership to power Lenovo’s high-performance data science workstations.

The partnership will combine Lenovo’s trusted ThinkStation and ThinkPad workstation product portfolio with Anaconda’s enterprise strengths for open-source leadership, security, and reliability.

“As artificial intelligence and machine learning models become increasingly complex, high-performance workstations are essential to equip data scientists with advanced capabilities,” said Rob Herman, General Manager of Workstation and Client AI at Lenovo.

The rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence, deep learning, and generative AI is opening up new opportunities for businesses and data scientists.

Much of the innovation in AI today is driven by open-source software and cloud-based solutions, with Python being a leading software language for AI applications.

However, the data security risks associated with using open-source software at the enterprise level, the privacy concerns, and the often prohibitive cost of cloud-based AI solutions are making many organizations rethink their approach to investing in AI development.

With Lenovo workstations powered by Intel, and equipped with the latest generations of NVIDIA professional GPUs designed for fine-tuning large models, and Anaconda Navigator’s ability to enable enterprises to leverage open-source and AI with enhanced mechanisms for security, scale, and governance, the partnership allows data scientists to create and deploy AI solutions with best-in-class hardware and enterprise-level AI software support within a more manageable investment framework.

Optimized for Intel platforms, Lenovo’s new generation of data science workstations offer exceptional AI performance and are one of the world’s most powerful and scalable AI workstation portfolios.

Planning AI projects requires clear and well-thought-out pathways to allocate the right hardware, software, and skill sets to manage each stage of AI development. Lenovo workstations complement cloud-based AI solutions by acting as a bridge between local and cloud resources, and help data scientists’ flexibility and productivity.

Lenovo’s full range of workstations includes six systems, from the ultra-portable ThinkPad P1 to the ThinkStation P920, which can support up to 10 GPUs.
