SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Manawa Energy announced that Mr Clayton Delmarter has been appointed to the permanent role of Chief Executive, effective immediately.
Manawa Energy Chair, Deion Campbell said: “the board undertook a lengthy, independent and international search for the right person to lead the company. Clayton was the standout candidate from this process, with the depth and breadth of his renewable energy industry experience, at executive leadership levels, along with his overall commercial focus, aligning well with the needs of the company.
Clayton’s experience includes asset operations, generation development, scheme consenting, large project procurement and delivery, securing large energy offtake contracts, and leadership of change initiatives. The board looks forward to working with Clayton as Manawa Energy delivers on its strategy to create shareholder value as New Zealand’s largest independent power producer”.
Mr Delmarter said: “it is a great privilege for me to be given the opportunity to lead the team at Manawa Energy – the assets that are core to Manawa Energy’s operations are where I established my roots in the renewable energy sector, when I first joined the generation team at Trustpower over two decades ago.
Now we have a wonderful opportunity ahead to grow and support New Zealand’s continuing journey to a low-carbon and sustainable future”.
Mr Delmarter is based in Tauranga, where Manawa Energy has its corporate office, and he has been Interim Chief Executive since September 2023.
