Manawa Energy CEO Dr. David Prentice resigns, interim replacement appointed

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Manawa Energy, New Zealand’s largest independent power producer, has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Dr David Prentice, effective from 8th September 2023.

Dr Prentice has led the company through the sale of the Trustpower retail business in 2022 and the subsequent rebranding to Manawa Energy, as well as the development of a pipeline of renewable generation projects.

He said that he was proud of what the company had achieved and that it was time for someone else to lead the next phase of growth.

Manawa Energy Chair Deion Campbell thanked Dr Prentice for his leadership and said that he had successfully steered the company through unprecedented challenges and opportunities.

He also announced that Clayton Delmarter, an employee of HRL Morrison & Co, which manages Manawa Energy’s largest shareholder Infratil Limited, will become interim Chief Executive from 11 September 2023, until a permanent replacement is found.
