Michelle Gass, the former CEO of Kohl’s, has officially become the new president and CEO of Levi Strauss & Co. (LS&Co.), succeeding Chip Bergh who led the company for over a decade. Gass aims to transform LS&Co. into a global leader in denim lifestyle apparel and a direct-to-consumer (DTC)-first organization.
To support her vision, Gass has announced two new additions to the executive leadership team: Kenny Mitchell, the chief marketing officer of Levi’s®, and Dawn Vitale, the chief merchandising officer of Levi’s®. Gass also plans to hire a president and chief commercial officer to oversee the global commercial strategy and growth of the Levi’s® brand.
Gass expressed her excitement and confidence in leading LS&Co. into its next era of growth, saying that the company has the best talent, products and values in the industry. She also praised the new executive team members, including Nancy Green, the CEO of Beyond Yoga, a recently acquired brand by LS&Co.
