Westinghouse Electric Company, a global leader in nuclear and clean power technologies, has named Lou Martinez Sancho as its new Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of R&D and Innovation.
Martinez Sancho will oversee the company’s research and development portfolio and drive its innovation agenda.
Martinez Sancho has more than 20 years of experience in various industries, including energy, biotech, automotive and construction. She previously worked as Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Kairos Power, Chief Innovation Officer of Spie Batignolles and Vice President of Global Innovation at Framatome. She holds Master of Science degrees from universities in Spain and France and is Master Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certified by The Ohio State University in the U.S.
Westinghouse President and CEO Patrick Fragman praised Martinez Sancho as a highly accomplished global leader who will further accelerate the company’s innovation priorities. He said, “For decades, Westinghouse has pioneered ideas that have shaped tomorrow’s energy future.”
Westinghouse has been providing safe and innovative nuclear and other clean power solutions for over 135 years. The company supplied the world’s first commercial pressurized water reactor in 1957 and its technology is the basis for nearly half of the world’s operating nuclear plants.
