Molecular Energies announces breakthrough in hydrogen-diesel hybrid technology

LONDON, UK: Molecular Energies (AIM: MEN), a leading alternative energy company, has achieved a significant technological and commercial breakthrough in its subsidiary Dual Fuel Limited (DFL), which develops hydrogen injection solutions for heavy-duty diesel vehicles.

DFL’s proprietary dual-fuel technology, developed in collaboration with G-Volution Limited, can safely introduce up to 20% of hydrogen into a diesel engine, reducing emissions and extending driving range. This is the baseline for DFL’s technology, which offers a cost-effective and transitional decarbonisation solution for fleet operators worldwide.

DFL has successfully completed initial trials on a heavy-duty vehicle engine using its technology and will move to live testing on a rolling-road in Q1 2024. Upon completion, DFL expects to deliver its first retrofit solutions to customers in Paraguay, its lead country, in Q3 2024. Paraguay is a landlocked country that relies on a large fleet of diesel trucks and barges for its infrastructure logistics. DFL’s offering will be supported by the supply of 100% green hydrogen generated by G-Mobility, its sister company within Green House.

DFL’s technology avoids the need for expensive hydrogen-only fuelled vehicles and hydrogen refuelling networks, major inhibitors to rolling out hydrogen mobility. The technology is intended to roll out worldwide after using Paraguay as a lead country.

Molecular Energies also announced that its alternative energy development division, Green House Capital Group plc (Green House), is expected to launch its AIM IPO in Q1 2024. Green House has made strong progress in its portfolio of green energy projects, including G-Mobility and Atome Energy, another sister company of DFL.
