Jazwares, a leading global toy company, has announced the acquisition of Big Balloon, Australia’s most innovative full-service toy distributor.
The deal is part of Jazwares’ global expansion strategy, as the Australian toy market is worth $1.7B. Jazwares’ CEO Judd Zebersky said that Big Balloon’s team, led by co-founder Chris Loverso, will join the Jazwares family and have a major impact on the toy industry in the long-term.
Arthur Ferreira, Senior Vice President of International Sales and Marketing, said that Jazwares will leverage Big Balloon’s local relationships with global licensing partners and third-party distribution partners to deliver results.
Big Balloon has been a key player in the Australian toy industry for more than 12 years, representing big and small brands through an extensive network of partnerships with major and independent retailers.
Loverso said that the company’s leadership, cultural alignment and mutual passion for brands made this the natural evolution for both businesses. He will serve as Managing Director of Jazwares Australia.
