Samsung to launch Galaxy S24 with on-device generative AI in 2024 Samsung has announced that it will introduce a Galaxy smartphone with on-device generative AI technology in 2024.

The company made this announcement during its Q3 earnings conference, where it reported a strong revenue of KRW 67.4 trillion (about $49.86 billion).

The generative AI technology that Samsung plans to integrate into its Galaxy devices is remarkable for its ability to work on the device itself, without requiring internet connectivity.

This means that Samsung Galaxy phones will have on-device generative AI technology, similar to systems like ChatGPT, that will enable users to access various services using simple voice commands, even when offline.

According to a report, Samsung’s generative AI technology is expected to allow users to create content based on specific keywords, offering a flexible and user-friendly experience.

For example, users could ask their Galaxy phone to generate a poem, a story, a song, or a code snippet based on their input.

Samsung’s move to adopt generative AI technology is seen as a countermeasure to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series, which is rumored to include on-device AI technology.

Samsung is actively developing its own generative AI technology, inspired by ChatGPT and Google Bard.

These are two of the most advanced generative AI systems in the world, capable of producing coherent and diverse texts based on natural language inputs.

The introduction of AI is expected to be a major breakthrough for Samsung’s Galaxy lineup. According to industry sources, the upcoming Galaxy S24 series may feature this AI technology, potentially making it a leader in the AI smartphone market.

Samsung’s goal is to create the smartest AI phone with the Galaxy S24 series, and this technology may also be applied to other products, such as the Galaxy Z6, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2024.

As Apple’s iPhone 16 series is slated to launch in the second half of 2024, Samsung is clearly preparing to compete with on-device AI features, signaling a new era of AI-powered smartphones from both tech giants.

Samsung’s decision to embrace generative AI technology promises to offer users new experiences and enhanced capabilities, positioning the company as a strong contender in the AI smartphone market.
