SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Hastings Technology Metals Ltd (ASX: HAS), a rare earths producer in Australia, has announced the appointment of Mr Paul Brown as its new Chief Executive Officer from 21 September 2023.
Mr Brown is a seasoned mining executive with more than 20 years of experience in various senior roles in the mining industry, including eight years at Mineral Resources Limited (MinRes) (ASX: MIN).
He has demonstrated his expertise and knowledge in the lithium sector, as well as delivering and operating several significant mining projects, such as Solomon Hub, Mount Marion, Wodgina and Wonmunna. He holds a Masters in Mine Engineering from Federation University in Victoria.
Mr Brown will lead Hastings in its transition from completing infrastructure work to commencing construction of the Yangibana mine and beneficiation plant, the first stage of its two-stage development plan. He will also drive the ongoing review of the capital and operational expenditures for the proposed hydrometallurgical plant, as well as work alongside Hastings Executive Chairman Mr Charles Lew on Hastings’ mine to magnet strategy.
Mr Lew welcomed Mr Brown’s appointment and said he was confident that he would steer the Yangibana Project to first rare earth concentrate production in early 2025, creating long term value for Hastings’ shareholders, stakeholders and people.
