Method Architecture, a Houston-based firm that specializes in designing breweries, mixed-use projects and commercial properties, has announced that it has acquired David Boggess Architects, another Houston commercial architecture firm.
David Boggess Architects is known for its projects such as the redevelopment of the Hughes Tool site in Houston’s East End and an operations and training center for Weatherford International in San Antonio. The acquisition will enhance Method’s portfolio of projects across Texas, the company said.
David Boggess Architects’ small team of two will join Method’s Houston team and move to the firm’s new 8,612-square-foot office at the East River development, which Method also designed.
According to houstonchronicle, the office features a colorful mural by local artist David Maldonado and offers views of the downtown skyline. David Boggess, the founder of the firm, who is preparing to retire, will assist in the transition and will serve as a member of Method’s new principal advisory council.
Method Architecture was founded in Houston in 2016 and has grown through acquisitions of other firms, including Architecture Plus in Austin, Primal Architecture in Dallas and GSC Architects in Austin and San Antonio. The firm has more than 70 employees in offices in Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. Jake Donaldson, managing principal at Method, said the firm is still looking for more acquisition opportunities if they fit its vision and culture.
