SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Tivan Limited (ASX: TVN), the owner of the Speewah Vanadium-Titanium-Iron Project in Western Australia, has announced that it has signed a Heads of Agreement with Cambridge Gulf Limited (CGL), the operator of the Wyndham Port, to collaborate on opportunities to support the development of the Speewah Project.
Speewah is located in the Kimberley region of north-west Western Australia, about 100km south of Wyndham. The project has a large resource of vanadium, titanium and iron, which are used in various industrial applications.
CGL operates and manages Wyndham Port, and has business interests in shipping, fuel and logistics across Northern Australia. CGL is a major employer in Wyndham, and also works with a number of indigenous organisations.
Under the agreement, Tivan and CGL have started discussions to explore potential opportunities for CGL to provide operational facilitation, port services and logistical services for the Speewah Project. The parties are also evaluating potential land sites near Wyndham Port that could be used for operational requirements for the project.
The agreement is on a non-exclusive basis and any areas of firm collaboration will be confirmed by formal commercial agreement.
Mr Tony Chafer, CEO of CGL, said that CGL was delighted to work with Tivan on the development of the Speewah Project. He said that Tivan’s approach provided confidence that the project would progress and deliver benefits for the East Kimberley economy and the Wyndham Port. He said that the project would enable CGL to expand its port and logistics teams and increase the level of local indigenous participation in the workforce.
