LONDON, UK: Hunting PLC (LSE:HTG), the global engineering group, has signed a collaboration agreement with CRA-Tubulars BV (“CRA”) to develop energy transition market opportunities in North America, using CRA’s novel Titanium Composite Tubing (“TCT”) technology.
TCT is a corrosion-resistant and lightweight tubular technology for the upstream oil and gas industry, which can also enable carbon dioxide (“CO2”) sequestration projects. TCT is made from aerospace grade Carbon Fibre and Titanium, which can handle the challenges of CO2 corrosion and low-temperature environments.
Hunting will provide its Oil Country Tubular Goods (“OCTG”) connection technology to TCT, offering customers the option of using conventional or titanium grade connectors. Hunting will also market, distribute and manufacture TCT in the North America region for the oil and gas and CCUS markets.
The agreement extends for an initial five-year period and is exclusive to Hunting and CRA. Both companies are excited by the prospects of this collaboration, as they aim to solve the technical issues that face CO2 storage well design and construction.
