Apple and Google Join Forces to Combat Bluetooth Tracker Stalking

Apple and Google collaborate to combat Bluetooth tracker stalking by proposing an industry standard. This standard aims to prevent the misuse of tracking devices and would allow Bluetooth-enabled devices to detect and alert users in case of unauthorized tracking.

Tile, Samsung, Eufy Security, Pebblebee, and Chipolo are among the companies that support this proposed specification.

The standard was submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force for review and comment, and a production implement of the specification is expected to be released by the end of 2023.

Apple has already implemented some anti-stalking features in its AirTags, and this collaboration shows that safety remains a top priority for these tech giants.
