LONDON, UK: Sanderson Design Group announced that its Harlequin brand will use TV advertising for the consumer launch of its Own the Room campaign, which empowers consumers to choose the best designs and colours for emotional and physical well-being.
The Harlequin TV adverts will begin on 1 September 2021 on Channel 4, More 4 and HGTV and will run for three weeks, marking the first time that the Group has used TV advertising. The adverts will target programming about homes and interiors. Strategically, this advertising is in line with the Group’s strategy of elevating its brands and driving consumer demand for trade customers.
The Own the Room campaign is based on a specially commissioned white paper, Is the colour of your home making you happy?, which was written by Stephen Westland, a professor of colour science and technology, and Soojin Lee, a research fellow in colour design, both of Leeds university.
The paper discusses the emotional and physical benefits of colour in the home and its effect on health and well-being. To maximise the benefits, the paper stresses the importance of matching colours to an individual’s specific characteristics.
To help consumers unlock their perfect colour and design choices, Harlequin has created an Own the Room quiz based on four distinct Harlequin looks.
Lisa Montague, Chief Executive Officer of Sanderson Design Group, commented: “Harlequin’s Own the Room initiative has created some fascinating insights on how colour and design can impact both emotional and physical well-being.
We’re excited to use TV advertising to bring this campaign to a broad consumer audience with the objective of driving demand for trade customers. I hope as many people as possible try the Own the Room quiz to encourage new dialogue and to give people the confidence to choose colourful, bolder schemes that can stimulate individual well-being.”
