LONDON: Saint-Gobain has announced the construction of a second plasterboard manufacturing line in its Turda plant, in northern Romania.
This €45 million investment aims to considerably increase the plasterboard manufacturing capacity in Romania in order to meet the rapidly growing local needs as well as those of the Central and Eastern European countries, and to secure Saint-Gobain’s leadership position in light construction markets.
This line will be operational in April 2023. Saint-Gobain employs over 1,800 people in Romania and offers a complete range of solutions and systems, with its 22 production lines manufacturing gypsum, mineral wool, mortars, building and automotive glass, and abrasives in 12 industrial sites.
