Boeing has delivered 64 planes in March 2023

Boeing has delivered 64 planes in March 2023, making it the highest delivery rate since December, as airlines look to capitalize on the boom in air travel.

Among the deliveries were seven Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which resumed deliveries mid-March after addressing a data analysis flaw that was reported in late February. The company also delivered 52 of its bestselling 737 Max jets as it prepares to increase production of these planes.

Both Boeing and Airbus have struggled with delayed deliveries due to lingering supply chain and worker training strains caused by the Covid pandemic. However, Boeing’s CEO of commercial aircraft, Stan Deal, revealed last month that the company plans to increase production of the 737 Max planes “very soon” from the current rate of 31 a month. The company has targeted deliveries of over 400 Max planes for this year.

Boeing also reported net orders for 38 planes in March, as demand picks up for new jets. United Airlines, Air India, and two Saudi airlines have recently placed high-profile orders for new planes. Boeing’s recent surge in deliveries is a welcome sign for the company, which has faced significant setbacks in recent years due to issues with its 737 Max planes.
