T-Mobile Opens New Retail Stores in Texas, Creating Jobs and Expanding Network Coverage

T-Mobile, the leading wireless provider in the United States, has announced the opening of 18 new retail stores across Texas in 2023, as part of its ongoing commitment to serve customers and communities in the Lone Star state.

The new stores have created about 120 new jobs for the state, and T-Mobile plans to open more than a dozen additional stores in 2024.

“Opening even more stores in Texas continues to be a great way for T-Mobile to build relationships with our customers,” said John Stevens, Vice President for T-Mobile’s Small Markets & Rural Areas.

“This is especially true in smaller and more rural communities where we’re opening doors for the very first time. Our strategy of meeting wireless consumers where they live, work, and play helps us to establish closer connections with them while also enabling us to tap into the local workforce.

We just couldn’t be more excited about our growth here in Texas and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact across the state.”

The new store locations opened in 2023 include Bellmead, Bonham, Brenham, Brownfield, Crockett, El Campo, Fort Worth, Frisco, Henderson, Jasper, Kaufman, Liberty, Lindale, Midlothian, Port Lavaca, San Antonio, Tyler, and Vernon.

These stores offer a wide range of products and services, such as the latest smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, accessories, and plans. Customers can also experience T-Mobile’s 5G network, which covers 99% of people in Texas across approximately 198,385 square miles.

The Texas Association of Business (TAB), the state’s leading business advocacy organization, welcomed T-Mobile’s continued investment in Texas.

“The announcement that T-Mobile has invested in locating retail stores this year in Texas, as well as its proposed investment in additional stores next year, is great news for Texas consumers and businesses. T-Mobile currently employs more than 7,000 Texans and the additional retail jobs are evidence of the excellent business climate that TAB advocates for in Texas is working,” said Glenn Hamer, TAB CEO.

T-Mobile’s expansion in Texas is not only limited to retail stores, but also to network improvements and community initiatives. Since 2021, T-Mobile has installed more than 1,200 new cell sites and upgraded close to 2,000 existing sites with 5G wireless service, providing customers with ultra-fast speeds, improved services, and better connectivity than ever before.

T-Mobile’s network enhancements also enabled the launch of 5G Home Internet in Texas, a high-speed broadband service that is available to more than 45% of homes in the state – over 6 million households.

T-Mobile 5G Home Internet is an affordable and easy-to-set-up alternative to traditional internet service providers, with no annual contracts or hidden fees.

T-Mobile is also focused on helping to make a difference in communities throughout Texas, especially in small towns and rural areas. Through its Hometown Grants program, T-Mobile has awarded $500,000 in grants to 10 towns in Texas since 2021, to support city beautification projects, public improvements, and more.

The towns that have received the grants are Brackettville, Cleveland, Elgin, Falfurrias, Hearne, Levelland, Los Fresnos, Palmview, Plainview, and Robstown.

Additionally, T-Mobile is committed to closing the digital divide in education by offering free internet connectivity and mobile hotspots to eligible students and schools through its Project 10Million initiative, which aims to reach 10 million households in the next five years.

T-Mobile is the leading wireless provider in the United States, with more than 104 million customers and the largest, fastest, and most reliable 5G network in the country.

T-Mobile is also the parent company of Metro by T-Mobile, which offers prepaid wireless services, and Sprint, which merged with T-Mobile in 2020. T-Mobile’s mission is to deliver the best wireless experience for customers and communities, while also being a force for good. For more information, visit www.t-mobile.com.
