CERGY, FRANCE: SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has entered into exclusive negotiations with BELFOR for the acquisition of their passive fire protection unit, BELFOR Prévention France (BPF), in the nuclear sector in France.
BELFOR is the world’s leading provider of disaster recovery services.
With this acquisition, SPIE strengthens its position in the fire protection market, particularly in the nuclear industry. As a leading service provider for passive fire protection, BELFOR Prévention France (BPF), has a diversified and long-standing customer base.
Headquartered in Maisons-Alfort in the Paris area, the company employs around 80 qualified employees and generated revenue of € 12 million in 2021.
David Guillon, Managing Director of SPIE Nucleaire, declared: “With BPF we are integrating a leading player for passive fire protection services in the nuclear sector in France. This combination will enable us to expand our services portfolio and prepare for the second-generation EPR (EPR2) market by 2030. We are very much looking forward to shaping the future together with the 80 highly qualified employees of BPF.”

Subject to the consultation of employee representation bodies, SPIE expects to complete the transaction in the coming months.
