MOSCOW, RUSSIA: PhosAgro, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated phosphate-based fertilizer producers, announced that Irina Bokova is leaving the company’s Board of Directors.
Ms Irina Bokova joined PhosAgro’s Board of Directors in 2018 as an independent director. In May 2019, she was elected Chair of the Board’s Sustainable Development Committee.
Bokova has served as an independent member on PhosAgro’s Board of Directors since 2018. She previously served as UNESCO Director-General for two consecutive four-year terms (2009–2017), becoming the first woman and the first East European leader of the organisation. She played an active role in the formulation and adoption of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.
PhosAgro is one of the world’s leading vertically integrated phosphate-based fertilizer producers in terms of production volumes of phosphate-based fertilizers and high-grade phosphate rock with a P2O5 content of 39% and higher. PhosAgro’s environmentally friendly fertilizers stand out for their high efficiency, and they do not lead to the contamination of soils with heavy metals.
PhosAgro’s shares are traded on the Moscow Exchange, and global depositary receipts (GDRs) for shares trade on the London Stock Exchange (under the ticker PHOR). Since 1 June 2016, the Company’s GDRs have been included in the MSCI Russia and MSCI Emerging Markets indexes.
