LOS ANGELES: Genstore, a rising startup redefining online retail through AI-native architecture, has closed a $10 million seed funding round led by Weimob, a prominent SaaS player in the e-commerce and retail space. Lighthouse Founders’ Fund also participated in the round, marking Genstore’s first capital raise since its founding in late 2024.
The funding will accelerate Genstore’s product development and market expansion, according to cofounder and president Junwei Huang. “Weimob’s deep expertise in digital transformation and its proven track record in AI deployment align closely with Genstore’s founding vision,” Huang said. “We’re focused on building intelligent tools that empower merchants to launch and scale online stores with unprecedented ease.”
Genstore’s platform is built entirely around AI-native principles, offering merchants a conversational interface that replaces traditional visual templates and manual workflows. Its tagline—“Start selling online with just one prompt”—underscores the company’s mission to simplify e-commerce setup and operations.
Unlike legacy platforms that bolt on AI as an afterthought, Genstore embeds intelligent agents into every layer of its architecture. From product listing and copywriting to customer service and marketing, the platform automates end-to-end workflows using natural language commands.
“AI-native isn’t a buzzword, it’s a strategic shift,” Huang emphasized. “Genstore is leading this change by building a platform that’s fundamentally distinct from today’s AI-enhanced solutions.”
Genstore’s debut in August 2025 quickly earned it the title of “#1 Product of the Day” on Product Hunt, signaling strong market interest. The platform’s conversational setup has resonated with merchants seeking faster, more intuitive ways to launch online businesses.
Beyond initial setup speed, Genstore’s AI agents offer long-term advantages:
- Data moat: A growing knowledge graph built from merchant interactions and sales data.
- Workflow lock-in: Natural language workflows reduce switching to traditional platforms.
- Rapid iteration: AI-native architecture enables faster feature deployment and responsiveness.
With over 28 million e-commerce stores globally and sales projected to surpass $6.8 trillion in 2025, Genstore is well-positioned to capture a meaningful share of this expanding market.
Genstore’s strategy includes bundling advanced features—like SEO optimization, campaign automation, and design tools—directly into its core offering. This eliminates the need for costly third-party apps, reducing total cost of ownership for merchants.
“Our goal is to deliver a more efficient and economical solution,” Huang said. “We’re removing complexity and cost barriers that have long plagued online sellers.”
Founded in Southern California, Genstore’s leadership includes veterans from Intel, Google, and other global tech firms. Inspired by the rise of large language models like ChatGPT, the team set out to build a platform that could serve small and midsize businesses with enterprise-grade intelligence.
With a dual-track go-to-market strategy targeting both new sellers and seasoned merchants, Genstore is gaining investor confidence and market momentum.
