SAN DIEGO: Econolite, a leading provider of intelligent traffic management solutions and a subsidiary of Umovity, announced Thursday the opening of a new 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in San Diego, California.
The expansion marks the company’s fourth U.S.-based production site and reinforces its commitment to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA).
The state-of-the-art facility will increase Econolite’s capacity for infrastructure-focused products, including traffic cabinet assembly, testing, and inspection. It also serves as a strategic warehousing hub for ready-to-ship products, enhancing delivery times across the country.
“Econolite is fully committed to supporting our customers’ transportation infrastructure needs in compliance with the Build America, Buy America Act,” said Ryan Bullock, Vice President of Operations. “Adding our fourth manufacturing facility in the U.S. confirms our unwavering support to our customers, municipalities, and communities in helping them meet their Buy America Preference goals for vital transportation projects.”
Located near key commercial corridors, the San Diego site is positioned to expedite supply chain distribution and bolster Econolite’s U.S.-made product portfolio. The company’s other manufacturing locations include Anaheim, Ventura, and Houston.
Econolite continues to expand its BABA-compliant offerings, supporting federal infrastructure initiatives with scalable, domestically produced traffic management solutions.
