PARIS: Saint-Gobain has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its prefabricated construction subsidiary Brüggemann to German construction firm Köster Group, the French building materials giant announced Tuesday.
Brüggemann, which specializes in the production and installation of prefabricated solutions, operates a single plant in Neuenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company employs approximately 190 people and reported revenues of around €55 million in 2024.
The buyer, Köster Group, is a leading general contractor in Germany, offering services ranging from customized planning to turnkey construction across building and civil engineering sectors.
Saint-Gobain said the transaction reflects its ongoing strategy to optimize its business portfolio under its “Grow & Impact” plan. The company noted that its collaboration with Brüggemann has helped position it as a preferred partner for prefabricators, co-developing high-performance, productivity-driven building solutions.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
