Sika, a global specialty chemicals company, has announced the acquisition of Cromar Building Products, a prominent supplier of roofing systems in the United Kingdom.
The acquisition is expected to open up significant cross-selling opportunities and support Sika’s continued expansion in the UK roofing sector.
Cromar is well-known for its innovative product offerings, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service. The company provides a wide range of flat and pitched roofing products, including membranes, liquid-applied products, sealants, and adhesives. Cromar’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will complement Sika’s existing production footprint in the UK.
With extensive experience in the roofing sector, Sika focuses primarily on the project specification business. The acquisition of Cromar will strengthen Sika’s presence and enhance its product portfolio in the roofing distribution channel.
Over the past decade, Sika UK has significantly grown its distribution business and established a recognized presence in non-roofing categories with builders’ merchants.
Christoph Ganz, Sika’s Regional Manager for EMEA, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Cromar perfectly complements our roofing business in the UK. With its established customer relationships and route to market in distribution, the acquisition provides a strong platform for further growth. We look forward to a successful joint future and would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Cromar employees as they join the Sika team.”
