ABU DHABI, UAE: Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has partnered with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and AI solutions provider Core42 to establish the AI Healthcare Academy.
The initiative, announced during the Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week, aims to create a skilled workforce adept in AI to enhance global healthcare services.
The MoU, signed by key figures including Dr. Rashed Obaid Al Suwaidi from DoH, Sultan Al Hajji from MBZUAI, and Talal Al Kaissi from Core42, marks a commitment to position Abu Dhabi as a hub for technology-driven healthcare. The Academy will focus on improving diagnostic and operational efficiencies, patient care, and healthcare processes worldwide.
Sultan Al Hajji highlighted the transformative potential of AI in healthcare, noting MBZUAI’s role in providing top-tier faculty for AI training. The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s vision to become a leading center for AI and life sciences.
The DoH’s embrace of AI technologies aims to upskill healthcare professionals and foster global collaboration and knowledge exchange. The partnership with MBZUAI’s Institute of Digital Public Health will also promote groundbreaking research and public-private partnerships for sustainable innovation.
The initiative is supported by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, underscoring the government’s commitment to healthcare innovation. The Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week, running from May 13-15, 2024, serves as the backdrop for this landmark announcement.
