Onelife Senior Living Merges with Ally Senior Living to Expand in Eight States

Onelife Senior Living, a family-owned developer and operator of senior living communities, has merged with Ally Senior Living, a Texas-based operator, to form a new company that will operate in eight states across 19 properties.

The deal, which closed in February 2024, will retain Onelife Senior Living name and branding, and will be led by partners Dan Williams, formerly CEO of Ally Senior Living, and Zack Falk, formerly CEO of Onelife. The merger aims to accelerate growth, maximize strategic advantage, and offer quality care to residents.

Williams will oversee the operational side of the business, while Falk will focus on real estate development and acquisitions. The new company has plans to acquire about five more communities in the next 12 to 18 months, and will also continue to offer third-party management services to select owners.

Onelife Senior Living has recently entered new markets, such as San Jose, California and Happy Valley, Oregon. The company has development, construction and operational capabilities, and boasts a capital-backing that makes it a large actor in the industry.

The merger also brings in Elliott Westerman as the chief financial officer of Onelife Senior Living. Westerman was previously CFO of Ally, and has extensive experience in commercial real estate investment, valuations, asset management, operations, and senior housing management.

Onelife Senior Living traces its roots back to 60 years ago, when Greg Falk, co-founder and principal investor of Onelife, started a six-story senior living community in Canyonville, Oregon. Falk said that partnering with Williams and his Ally team gives them an opportunity to expand their footprint, enhance their operating platform, and come up with new ideas in a market with huge demand.

With the completion of the merger, Onelife Senior Living has 1,400 employees across eight states and 19 properties. Its headquarters are in Denver, Colorado, with management and support teams in Arizona, Oregon and Dallas, Texas.
