HELSINKI: Tamtron Group Oyj has acquired Finnish portable scale manufacturer Teknoscale Oy as part of its growth strategy, the company announced Monday, expanding its reach into the defense and public sectors.
The deal gives Tamtron full ownership of Teknoscale, a 1994-founded maker of robust wheel weighers used by authorities and companies to weigh transport equipment, defense gear and aircraft. The scales allow manual data reading or wireless transfer to computers.
Tamtron said the acquisition broadens its customer base, particularly in government and defense markets, while adding high-quality portable weighing systems to its existing product line.
“Teknoscale has long been known for products that represent high-quality and durable Finnish design and manufacturing expertise,” said Mikko Keskinen, CEO of Tamtron Group Oyj. “This acquisition is a strategically natural step for us: it complements Tamtron’s product portfolio and gives us an even stronger position in the authorities and defense sectors as well as in the aviation industry.”
Janne Larma, representing the seller, expressed satisfaction with the deal.
“I am very satisfied and pleased that Teknoscale will become part of the Tamtron Group,” Larma said. “This gives Teknoscale significantly better opportunities to market and sell its products and to grow, especially internationally. I believe the transaction will benefit Teknoscale’s customers, personnel and other stakeholders alike.”
The sellers were Teknoscale shareholders Notalar Oy and Willbe Oy.
Tamtron, an international provider of weighing and dosing technology, reported net sales of 55.7 million euros and operating profit of 1.9 million euros for the financial year ended Dec. 31, 2025. The company employs about 330 people across Finland and eight other European countries.
