SAN FRANCISCO – Postman, the world’s leading API collaboration platform, said on Saturday it has acquired liblab, a developer-focused startup that automates the generation and maintenance of Software Development Kits (SDKs), as part of its strategy to streamline the entire API lifecycle.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, will integrate liblab’s “SDKs-as-a-service” technology into Postman’s platform, enabling more than 40 million developers to instantly generate customizable SDKs across major programming languages. The move aims to accelerate API adoption and simplify consumption for developers building AI-ready applications and connected systems.

“SDKs are essential to driving API adoption, but creating and maintaining them is often cumbersome,” said Abhinav Asthana, Postman’s co-founder and CEO. “liblab’s developer-first approach makes SDK generation seamless and aligns perfectly with our mission to support high-quality API development.”

Founded in 2022, liblab enables developers to produce expert-level SDKs in seconds, mirroring the style and functionality of hand-written libraries. Its founder and CEO Sagiv Ofek said the acquisition “completes the loop” between API producers and consumers, allowing teams to design, test, document, and consume APIs within a unified workflow.

The acquisition expands Postman’s core capabilities beyond API design and testing to include SDK generation, documentation synchronization, and multi-language support, reinforcing its position in the API-first development ecosystem.

Postman is privately held and backed by investors including Battery Ventures, BOND, Coatue, CRV, Insight Partners, and Nexus Venture Partners, a statement said.
