SAN JOSE: Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ: CRDO) said on Tuesday it has completed the acquisition of privately-held Hyperlume Inc., a developer of microLED-based optical interconnect technology, in a move aimed at strengthening its portfolio of high-speed, energy-efficient connectivity solutions for AI-driven data infrastructure.
The deal marks a strategic expansion for Credo, which provides secure, low-power connectivity systems for cloud, enterprise, and hyperscale data centers. Hyperlume’s proprietary microLED technology enables ultra-fast, low-latency chip-to-chip communication, addressing growing bandwidth demands in AI and parallel processing environments.
“The acquisition of Hyperlume extends our system-level connectivity offerings across diverse mediums and protocols,” said Credo CEO Bill Brennan. “MicroLED technology supports our mission to deliver scalable, energy-efficient solutions for the AI era.”
Hyperlume’s microLED platform uses specialized light-emitting diodes and ultra-low power circuitry to overcome limitations of traditional electronic interconnects. The integration is expected to offer customers new options for scaling AI clusters and data center performance.
“We’re excited to join Credo and accelerate innovation in high-performance infrastructure,” said Hyperlume CEO Mohsen Asad. “MicroLED is poised to redefine connectivity as AI models continue to scale.”
