PORTLAND: Easy Mile Fitness, a privately held Planet Fitness franchisee, has acquired 17 new locations from Bravo Fit Franchise Group, expanding its footprint across Oregon and Alaska.
The acquisition includes 15 clubs in Oregon—spanning Portland, Bend, Medford and Yakima—and two in Anchorage, Alaska. With the deal, Easy Mile Fitness becomes the largest Planet Fitness operator in Oregon and marks Alaska as its fifth U.S. state of operation.
“This acquisition fits with our internal goals and will help us execute our vision of continuing to be a top franchise partner and bring a high-value experience to more communities,” said Philip Amato, Chief Operating Officer of Easy Mile Fitness.
The expansion brings Easy Mile Fitness’s portfolio to 70 clubs across seven territories: Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and Ontario, Canada.
Bravo Fit Co-CEOs Tanner Halton and Dan Afrasiabi reflected on their journey, which began in 2012 with a single club in Salem, Oregon. “We could not be prouder of our Bravo Fit team for creating a culture dedicated to delivering confidence and competence,” Afrasiabi said. “Today, we put our Oregon and Alaska operations in the good hands of Easy Mile Fitness.”
Financing for the transaction was led by Fifth Third Bank, which served as Left Lead Arranger and Administrative Agent. Legal counsel was provided by Downs Rachlin Martin, with tax advisory from Baker Tilly US LLP and insurance diligence by Lockton. Bravo Fit was advised by Intrepid Investment Bankers and Landye Bennett Blumstein LLP.
Easy Mile Fitness will assume day-to-day operations of the newly acquired clubs immediately. Planet Fitness members at these locations will continue to enjoy the brand’s signature Judgement Free experience, including access to strength and cardio equipment and free fitness training.
