LONDON: Kier Group plc announced Tuesday that Chief Executive Andrew Davies will retire and step down from the board on Oct. 31. Stuart Togwell, currently executive director and group managing director of construction, will succeed him on Nov. 1.
Davies, who joined Kier in 2019, is credited with steering the infrastructure services and construction group through a significant turnaround. During his tenure, Kier returned to the FTSE 250, resumed dividend payments, and reported a record £11 billion order book.
“I want to thank all the colleagues for their support, hard work and commitment over the last six years in building the foundations to ensure Kier remains a leading infrastructure services, construction and property company,” Davies said.
Chairman Matthew Lester praised Davies for his “exceptional leadership” and said Togwell was ideally placed to “lead Kier through the next chapter of its development and to deliver long-term sustainable growth.”
Togwell said he was honored by the appointment and looked forward to “working with Kier’s exceptional teams to drive success and growth.”
