LANCASTER: Ecore International, a global leader in transforming reclaimed rubber into high-performance, sustainable products, has acquired Lockport, N.Y.-based HTI Recycling, expanding its materials innovation and reinforcing its circularity mission.
The transaction includes HTI subsidiaries Edge Rubber Recycling and D&G Heavy Equipment Leasing, uniting two family-run firms with a shared commitment to environmental impact, product quality and resource reuse.
Ecore CEO Art Dodge described the acquisition as a strategic move to strengthen the company’s supply chain and scale operations. “HTI’s long-standing excellence in tire recycling and crumb rubber manufacturing complements our zero-waste TRUcircularity™ program. Together, we’re accelerating our mission to eliminate rubber waste,” Dodge said.
Founded by Derek Martin, HTI has built a legacy of reliability in the Northeast through innovative recycling practices. Martin’s son, Carl E. Martin, continues to lead HTI’s efforts in tire reuse and processing.
Kal Krishan, president of Ecore’s Materials Business Unit, added that the integration will enhance capabilities and service delivery. Ecore will add 81 employees from HTI, supporting its goal to reshape rubber waste into valuable materials for safer and more sustainable communities.
Ecore, based in Lancaster, Pa., remains focused on circularity through its pioneering TRUcircularity platform, enabling clients to repurpose end-of-life rubber into new surfaces with zero waste.
